Another beautiful Colorado day!

One again...Sunday was another beautiful day!  On a whim I checked out some new geocaches and found they were all around the trail we went the day before.  So I grabbed Cousins Ryan and Erin and we headed back.  We actually found 3 for 3!  We've never been that lucky before.  We actually stumbled across some other cachers who were searching, and we found it right away.  Yea...we're that good!

Beautiful Colorado Weekend!

Saturday was a beautiful day, so we decided to try a new hike.  It's about 20 minutes from the house and a 1.8 mile loop.  The boys really needed to get out the house, and I'm trying to keep up with exercise...mainly to be in walking shape for our Disney trip in April!  Joe packed sandwiches and we had a nice hike.

big day!

It's a big day in the Frankovitch household.  I am halfway through this pregnancy - wee hoo!  Only 20 short weeks to go.  :)

Also, today marks 15 YEARS of togetherness for Joe and me.  He doesn't feel the need to celebrating our "dating" anniversary but I certainly do!

Version 1 of Trey's chore and allowance system

So it doesn't look that cute, but I decided to start SOMETHING quickly
rather than being my usual perfectionist self and waiting until I had
the "perfect" system.

There are 50 blocks. Each completed block is worth 10 cents. But
Trey has to complete at least 45 each week to get any allowance. So
his allowance will be somewhere between $4.50 and $5.00 each week. My
research tells me $1 per year of age per week. This is a bit lower,
but next week I'll introduce some optional bonus jobs where he can
earn up to $2 more each week. His bonus jobs can also be exchanged
for screen time instead of money. Most are $0.25/5 min of screen time
or $0.50/10 min of screen time.

I need to figure out how we are going to pay Trey. I think since we
just opened a local savings account for Trey we'll just transfer his
allowance right in there.

Also I need to figure out how behavior plays unto this - I would love
to give bonus cards when we catch him doing something extra sweet or
helpful and take away for bad behavior.

Next up: an age appropriate system for Jonah!

It's amazing what the boys think of to play when they aren't allowed
to play electronics. Right now they are playing bank. Trey is in the
toy bin acting like an ATM machine. Jonah is putting his pretend
debit card in and getting REAL cash in return!

Chores

They clean 2 bathrooms for no money (standard chores), and the other 2
bathroom for $0.25 per kid per bathroom. Bargain!!

Another generation discovers a love of creating treasure hunts!

This is Trey's first (and unprompted) treasure hunt for his brother.
I'm so proud! Bonus points for the rhyme. It reminds me on all those
treasure hunts that Mari, Clint and I set up for each other at Mimi's
when we were young.

Slumber party

Jonah and I are spending the night with the Parker kids since Mari and
Scott are at his Christmas party. I forgot to bring PJs for Jonah,
but he isn't going to let girl pajamas slow him down!

Pickles is back!

Our "elf on the shelf" Pickles came back this weekend. The boys love
finding him in different spots each morning. Today Pickles was
climbing the fire truck ladder!

Look at how great Trey's drawing is! He left white where Pickles has

Me: we haven't voted yet.

Trey: but on grampy's TV it gave numbers

Trey: I'm not going to vote for Obama.

Me: oh yea, why?

Trey: because Daddy doesn't like him. I'm going to vote for our
other president.

Me: well you're not old enough to vote yet, and I hope when you are
you make your own informed decisions and don't just do what Daddy
does.

Trey: well I'm still not voting for Obama.

Trey:  Yea we do.
