1st corn dog

I'd say he likes it! In fact, a woman came up to me and said "I watched your baby eat that corn dog and it was the cutest thing!"

1st birthdays

I actually finished a project on my list! Well....sort of. Still need to hang these.

interesting logic...

When we are somewhere and the boys walk off to go to the bathroom or something, I always say "don't let anyone steal you!"  The other day Jonah said "If I had a pocketknife in my pocket and someone tried to steal me..." and I thought - I know where this is going...  Then he finished "I would take the pocketknife, cut down a tree branch, and hit the bad guy with the branch."

Eli's 1st camping trip

Last weekend we went to Mt. Princeton campground with our friends the Ludovics and some of their friends.  The kids all did great!

The first night Eli and I tried to sleep on one of the slide out beds at the end of the popup.  I had my pregnancy body pillow on one side of him and I was on the other.  He went to sleep ok, but woke up a few times crying.  I think he didn't know where he was, because he would pop his head up all of the sudden, look around, and start crying.  So Joe and I switched beds so that Eli and I were on the one in the middle of the popup.  That was better because it has 3 hard sides, so I was able to stack up some pillows and hold him for a while.  Eventually I was able to lay him down and he was quiet the rest of the night.  On the 2nd night we slept in that same bed and he didn't move all night.

The thing we aren't quiet used to yet is how quickly and silently he moves!  He took a header off the side bed on Joe's watch, and fell halfway out of the camper on my watch.  Luckily he was fine both times, and we learned our lesson that we have to watch him like a hawk.

Everyone was filthy but we all had a good time!

The last...

I read an article about how we do a good job of celebrating firsts with kids, but we never notice when it's the last of something.  The last diaper, the last time wiping a dirty bottom, the last bottle, etc.  With Eli being my last child, this is especially true because all these things are the very very last.  I've thought a lot about that lately and tried to notice when something is the last time.  I took note of the last time he was swaddled.  This is a picture of his last can of formula.

Jonah's Kindergarten Graduation

Jonah's kindergarten graduation was on Thursday.  I can't believe it!  It was super cute - they sang songs, then we went to the classroom for treats and a movie that Mrs. Graham had put together.  I wanted to get a photo of him in the classroom, so he went around posing in front of all his favorite activities.
