On the eve of his 12 week birthday....

Eli slept an unprecedented 9 hour stretch! I had to go in to put his
binkie in at 6 and 8 hours because he was fussing, but I walked right
out and he slept longer. Sleep baby, sleep!

I have noticed this phenomenon

Trey: "When daddy yells at us for some reason we keep being bad. When no one yells at us we are good."

I'm a little late in posting, but I'm finally getting around to typing in the notes that I took a few weeks ago when Eli turned 2 months old.

- starting to use hands more...  will cling to you when you try to put him down, loves to grab handfuls of my hair and hold on

- had his first bath in his spa tub.  He was still a bit too young for it, so we went back to the big sponge in the sink

- overall a very happy baby.  gives smiles easily.  coos now when smiling which seem like the beginning of laughs, but no true laugh yet.

- loves to stretch when let out of his swaddle

- still swaddled for every nap and nighttime

- taking 4 oz bottles now - half formula, half breastmilk

- easy to get back down at night after eating.  a few long stretches (5, 6, or 7 hours) but mostly still waking up to eat every 3-4 hours at night.

- starting to get him on a routine of bedtime around 6:15-6:30pm.

- no real daytime routine yet, other than he usually has a long (2-3 hours) morning nap and short afternoon naps

Jonah's 5 year appointment

Jonah had his 5 year old checkup yesterday.  No shots - yea!  He weighs 38 lbs (25th percentile) and is 43" tall (50th percentile).  He passed his vision screening but failed his hearing screening.  But he has a little bit of a cold and the doctor is sure that was the cause.  We're going back in 2 weeks to redo the test.

There is a bank in Gladewater called Texas Bank and Trust.  Trey and I hid a geocache right by it, and when I told him the name of the bank he said "What does bacon have to do with a bank!?"  (texas bacon trust)

When in TX, I used lotion that someone had left in Mimi's house for Trey since I forgot to pack some.  It was Eucerin Calming Cream.  When I put it on Trey, he said "but I don't FEEL any calmer!!"

Oh you know... Just falling asleep on the big bed after bath while mommy talks on the phone. With his arms up.

Eli went 6 hours between feedings last night. Whoo hoo! I had to get up twice and put in his binkie to get him to sleep longer, but this is a good step!

Trey's triathlon

Trey rocked his 2nd triathlon ever on Saturday!  He finished in 15:25.  He said the running part was the hardest because he was all out of energy.  It was 1 lap swim, 1 mile bike, then 1/2 mile run.

Hoping for a break in the weather before our trip to Mimi's!

Baby had back to back 5 hour stretches last night. Whoot whoot!

Nighttime shenanigans

we're making progress!

Little guy went 4 hours and 45 minutes overnight between feedings.  Yea!  A new record.  I had to put his binkie back in after 3 hours, then 30 minutes later, but then he went back to sleep and went all the way to 4 hours and 45 minutes.  It's a step in the right direction!

Baby bright eyes! Eli's lashes are growing long, his clogged tear
duct has cleared up, and his eyes are blue and no longer the dark
newborn color.

I'm packing away all newborn clothes. 0-3 and 3-6 month clothes here we come!

The boys are so excited about getting a BB gun (Trey) and pocket knife (Jonah). According to Joe all they have to do is bring home a live deer they caught with their bare hands. They are talking like its a sure thing.

Estes Park/Lake Granby - day 2

The older boys had day camp at the YMCA and had a blast. They were gone from 8:15-3:15. Joe and I went for a hike but otherwise just lazed around with the baby. It's pretty amazing how fast the day goes by when you're not doing much!
