Joe's completed masterpiece

A six-month labor of love. It cranks out some damn fine pizza and bread!

He called it!

Today was a rough day with the kids. It started out ok, but then Trey's behavior turned atrocious. Jonah followed suit and Eli was also off. In the afternoon the weather turned cold and foggy, so we were all trapped inside and driving each other nuts! I've been meaning to start a Mommy/son journal with Trey where we pass notes back and forth. So I took the opportunity to start our journal and reassure him that I always love him, no matter what his behavior is. He wrote back and at the end had "p.s. You DID NOT use your love and logic skills today." Ha! So true!

Homemade advent calendar this year

Joe complained our other one didn't hold enough candy for three kids.

It is starting

Oh for sure he is getting an 8 foot candy cane. Definitely.

Now THAT'S a dessert!

Trey had his end of season soccer dinner on Friday night, and it was a little late for Eli, so I took the younger boys to the golf course for dinner. In a moment of weakness I let Jonah order this monstrous dessert. Eli had a few bites, then started feeding Jonah. Eli was so mad when Jonah decided he was done! He started to throw a fit and I knew it was time to leave.

Tarantula

On Saturday we went to an event where a woman talked about spiders and insects. The boys got to hold a tarantula!

This boy LOVES his trucks!

We just had a quiz and he got all of them right. Fire truck, dump truck, bulldozer, train, car transporter.

Jonah lost his first tooth! Literally.

Jonah tried to do a cool skateboard trick and smacked himself in the mouth with it. He pushed his top tooth back and up into his gums, so the dentist pulled it. On the way home he lost it somewhere in the car.

The tooth fairy forgot to visit, and Jonah was so upset in the morning. But the strangest thing happened! When I came down to "help him look" for the money, it was under his covers! So all was well.

The life of the youngest

Cozy in the stroller, chips and water handy, watching big brother's soccer game. I foresee much more of this in Eli's future!

Phil

getting closer!

Eli took 3 unassisted steps today!

He does fine with the walking wings, but just freaks out and drops when he knows he is on his own.

Night night

Tonight when I went down with Jonah to do his night night, he told me he didn't need night night tonight.

When I went down with Trey, I said "Jonah has NEVER not wanted night night. Why do you think he didn't want me to do it?" Trey said "probably because you ask too many questions about his girlfriend. You kind of get carried away."

Latest in the girl craziness

Apparently Bella told Jonah she wanted to kiss him, and now he thinks he likes her more than Miley.

I said "oh no! Miley's feelings are going to be so hurt. Please be very sweet to her."

He said "Oh don't worry, she wasn't at school today."

Serious!

Jonah has taken to referring to "his girlfriend" so it sounds like this is the real deal! Today Trey was helping out in Jonah's classroom and Jonah pointed out "his girlfriend." And tonight at dinner Jonah said that "his girlfriend's best friend" Ava wrote that she loved Jonah every day in her diary. (Love triangle!) I asked him how he knew that and he said "Oh I don't know if it's true, it's just what my girlfriend told me."

Progress!

Tile in, no grout yet.

It's about time!

Well 10 days shy of his 17 month birthday, Eli gave us a few unassisted steps today.  Once he took 1 step and another time he took 2 steps.  Boy this kid has sure taken his time!  He cruises around like a champ holding onto something, but it's like his feet are glued to the floor if he isn't holding onto something.

My favorite thing… Just sitting on the tractor

Eli's first haircut

Guess who hated his first haircut?

Mommy, I'm ready to go back to San Diego!

Eli loves....

being crazy on the bed, standing up, falling over, smashing face first
into the pillows, laughing hysterically, stopping for a moment to
watch the fan

fans - any kind. ceiling fans, fans on a stand, any fan

tractors, and anything that looks even vaguely similar to a tractor
like a golf cart

dogs - when we are out for a walk and a dog passes out of sight, he
starts crying and signs "more"

cheese, fruit, and ice cream

baths

books and more books

the beach! I took him for a lot of walks in San Diego, and when we
got to the beach I would say "do you love the waves?" and he would
start waving like a crazy kid
