Halloween decorations

The boys were upset with me that I have absolutely zero Halloween decorations, so they used their own allowance money to buy some.

Jonah bought this one from the target dollar section, and borrowed a pen to make some comments. Check out his comment on the right… Isn't that so clever?

The Lion’s Roar, by Trey Frankovitch

The Lion's Roar

By Trey Frankovitch

Roooooaaaarr!  My name is Lion.  I am only 5 years old but I can still growl.  One day I saw the letters G-R-O-W-L.  They were walking away from me and going into the river.  I saw them hopping into a boat.  The "G" was guiding and the "R" was rowing.  I chased them down with my own boat.

Finally I caught up to the letters.  My oar made a perfect bridge between the two boats.  I was walking across my homemade bridge when the "O" wiggled the oar, so I fell off.  I hung on but they put up the better fight.  I landed in the water with a !!!splash!!!

I was so angry I growled at them.  The horrifying thing is, I never growled.  It just wouldn't come out.  Meanwhile the five letters sailed peacefully along the river.

Trey: it's kind of neat having a brother. Because then I have someone to eat my fish sticks for me.

Boys on a plane

Joe and Trey got the extra room seats in row 10 - he deserved it for flying with all the boys by himself to Pittsburgh. I took row 32 with these 2 good travelers.

Chalk Art Festival continued

This is Jonah's art. Eli spit out a big mouthful of water on Jonah's self portrait and Jonah was NOT happy, so he redrew it. Notice he is wearing a v-neck shirt in the drawing. He wanted to be sure I pointed that out on the blog.

Chalk Art Festival

Last weekend I took the boys to a chalk art festival at a park in Centennial. The park was awesome! I didn't get any pictures of the official art, but snapped pics of the boys' art.

Photos from 1st weekend at the new land!

We LOVE the new land!  Joe spent Friday night there with the dogs.  On Saturday after baseball and soccer games, Gigi, the boys, and I drove up.  The aspens were turning and beautiful on the drive!

Once we got to the land, we explored and Joe cooked yummy brats and hot dogs.  I hiked up to the other side - what a steep hill!  I'll get some good exercise doing that a few times a day!  We didn't quite have the sleeping logistics worked out yet, so Gigi, Eli, Trey, and I slept at a nearby hotel in Fairplay.

On Sunday we organized some piles of wood and PVC and metal pipes that the previous owners left.  Hated to leave but excited to go back in October!  It should be interesting for all 5 of us and 2 dogs to sleep in the same small space.

I have created the next generation of tea drinkers

The boys have been getting into tea lately, especially Jonah. He has it almost every night before bed. I sneak a little gelatin into it which is supposed to help him get a good nights sleep and has a lot of protein.

Home Run Hitter

Supporting their older brother

Trey is in a soccer tournament this weekend, and Eli and Jonah show their support by wearing his old soccer jerseys. Trey won both of his games on Saturday!

Daddy is the only one in this family scared of snakes

Eli has announced that he love snakes, and here he is devouring a book on snakes that Trey brought home from school
