When we pulled in the driveway from the fair, Trey signed "sleep." I love that I have a kid that will tell me when he wants to go to bed, rather than melting down. He does this at night too. We'll be reading books and he'll make the sleep sign. Never a bedtime struggle. Thank goodness a mom that goes to bed at 8:30 pm doesn't have a night owl baby!
Also today he signed "diaper" and when I went to change him the diaper was VERY wet. He doesn't sign diaper every time he needs a change, but every once in a while he will. I love it!
Couple of funny kids, crazy dogs, and parents who don't feel old enough to be parents.

Not only was today Trey's 1st race, it was also his 1st local fair and ride! This bear ride was like the spinning teacups, but slower. He sat on my lap and seemed a little confused by it all. About 1/2 through the ride he started signing "all done," but didn't cry. I think once he gets older and taller he'll be my rollercoaster riding buddy.

Apples
We discovered tonight that Trey can eat a whole apple pretty much on his own. He is becoming such a big boy! And so portable!
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
Where I sit at work, there is a whiteboard where someone puts up a fact-of-the-day. Today's is "Children laugh 400 times a day. Adults laugh 15." which made me think of something funny Trey has been doing. If someone laughs, he'll laugh. Even if it is on TV, on the radio, or just someone in a store. It is very adorable.

Trey's hair
Joe and I always said we would let their hair grow long if we had little boys. I imagined beautiful blond long curls. Well....Trey still has his "baby fluff" and hasn't even had a haircut! When he was born he had a surprising amount of hair that was really dark. That was replaced by very fine very light brown hair.
He used to have this weird patch of hair in the back. It almost looked like a combover. Here is a pic from when he was 8 months:
Now it has grown out, and just recently this strange little patch now contains his 1st curl!

Dance Party!
Although the look on his face says otherwise, Trey loves to boogie. There is a dance party today from 5 - 6:30 at his daycare with bubbles, a DJ, and kid friendly snacks. We are so excited. Luckily Trey's "aunties" Jill, Bree, Kate, and Emily thought ahead and bought him this shirt when he was born. He has been just dying to wear it, and today is the perfect day!
Mobile blogging
(A fancy way to say sending updates and pics from my phone. )
This is the magnolia tree in our back yard. It is hard to see from the photo, but it is amazing! On Saturday it was not blooming, and on Sunday it was full color!

tiny tales version 2
The tiny tales product is getting a complete overhaul. I am so excited about the new design - in my humble opinion it looks like a professional product you'd find in a cute baby boutique. It should be ready by the middle of next week. I am also having company create a website for me complete with online ordering! The new website will be up in early June, but I will update the existing website with the new photo and description in a few weeks. Stay tuned!

Happy Easter!
Trey had a wonderful easter! We hid some eggs in the living room as it was only mid-20s outside. Right away he understood how to find the eggs and put them in the basket. Then he spent about an hour dumping the eggs out of the basket, putting them back in again, and walking around the room with the basket. He also loved his Easter goodies - bunny books and bath toys!

This was Trey last year at Easter...just a few months old.

African disc women
Trey has a new way of sucking on his binkie - he puts his bottom lip around the bottom of the plastic piece. It is very funny, and contributes to his already flowing drool. Joe thinks he is practicing to be one of those Africans who put discs in their lips.

Picasso?
This is Trey's 1st artwork ever. One day when I went to pick him up from daycare, his lips and tongue were bright blue! He even had some blue tinted drool dripping off his chin. Apparently, it is not against the rule in daycare to eat the markers.
