We start 'em early around here!

Eli loves mealtime!

Doggie mealtime, that is. He absolutely loves when we feed the dogs. It is one of his favorite part of the day. He will watch the dogs going crazy outside and watch us get the food in the bowls, then when we open the door to let the dogs in he runs as fast as his little legs will take him to get out of their way. Then he keeps close watch on their progress as they are eating.

New hiking spot

Trey and I tried out a new incline in Castle Rock with a Parker running group. The group was super nice, and after this 200 step incline we did a fun 3 mile trail run. We will definitely be coming back!

At Mimi's funeral on Sunday I read this poem.  I remember all the times we'd drive to her house and she would swing open the front door and say, no matter what time we arrived, "Oh my sweet angels!  You made it so early!"

She always leaned to watch for us

Anxious if we were late,

In winter by the window,

In summer by the gate.

And though we mocked her tenderly

Who had such foolish care,

The long way home would seem more safe,

Because she waited there.

Her thoughts were all so full of us,

She never could forget,

And so I think that where she is

She must be watching yet.

Terrible twos are coming!

If you take something away from Eli... Watch out! A slap to the face might be coming. He's slapped me several times over the last few days. Yesterday when I took something away from him, he had both hands over his head ready to strike but luckily I was ready. This boy is developing a temper!!
