Jonah's birthday
With all the talk about Trey's birthday trip, Jonah announced that he
wants a trip for his birthday in lieu of a party and presents too. I
suggested some places, and he narrowed it down to Austin and Florida.
He asked me to make a list of the fun things in each place, Austin on
one side and Florida on the other. Trey said "why don't you just draw
a venn diagram?" Pretty sure I didn't know what a Venn diagram was at
7 years old!

Sitting
All the sudden Eli got really good at sitting up! Not so much that I
would put him on the ground without a pillow behind him, but good
enough to not be leaning on his hands. He can sit for a long time
too!

Trey's birthday
I can't remember much of what I received for birthdays growing up, but I have tons of memories of the trips I took with Mom, Dad, or Mimi & Da. I want to make sure Trey has those memories too, so for his birthday I got the idea to give him a choice - birthday party & lots of presents, or just a couple presents and a trip to NYC. I really wasn't sure what he would choose, but I was so touched when he chose the trip. What a good boy!!
We're going in May - just the 2 of us. We are staying at a Marriott in between Times Square and Central Park (thanks Dad!!). We have tickets to 2 plays - Matilda (Trey LOVES the movie) and Lion King (thanks Mom!!). And otherwise we'll do the touristy things and play in the park.
He brings it up often so I can tell he is excited. Today at school he made a journal for the trip!
too much TV?
Trey and I somehow got on the subject of women dying their hair. He said "yea I know... Color clashing." I said "huh?" He said "color clashing." I said "I have no idea what you are talking about." He said in an announcer's voice... "Is your hair dull and grey? Try new color clashing root touch up from clairol!"

Happy 7 months Eli!
Eli is such a good baby! He's almost always happy and content.
Loves:
- playing with his feet, putting them into his mouth
- yogurt
- singing, chirping, and yelling for joy in the middle of the night
- screaming for joy any time of the day
- his hands! he is so amazed by them
tried puffs and he DID NOT like them
2 teeth popped up!
starting to drool more...most days I keep a bib on him that gets soaked within an hour
about the same sleeping and eating
loves holding onto his feet
starting to like the exersaucer more
eats all meals in his bumbo on the kitchen table
when he watches us eat, he drools and makes chewing motions
now using a steroid ointment regularly so his eczema is more under control
boys know how to make him laugh
sitting up a little better, but not straight up for long periods of time
cheeks still HUGEEEEEEEEEE
can roll over, but doesn't want to often. once Joe found him a few feet away from his activity mat...apparently he rolled over a few times to get there. Within a month we'll need to babyproof the house and have an important talk to the boys about leaving small toys on the floor.

Happy 6 month birthday Eli!
(obviously a month late with this post)
weighs 15 lb 7 oz (20th percentile)
height 25 3/4 in (25th percentile)
eating 3 meals of solids a day, plus 5 4oz bottles of formula
sleeping varies - sometimes he'll go until 4 or 5am without waking, sometimes he'll need his binkie at midnight then eat at 3am
found his feet
working on sitting up - he sits slightly more upright than a pike position
loves to go on walks in the stroller
loves being carried, but also pretty content to lay in the bouncy or on his activity mat for 10-20 minutes at a time
doesn't love baths
still a super happy baby!!
If Eli isn't smiling, he has this look on his face. I think he can't close his mouth easily because his cheeks are too big!
